About Me,
Lily Obediah Laverick

An eclectic paradox
In a world where they want everyone in little boxes with neat labels, I keep shapeshifting and embracing my eclectic paradoxical ways!
I'm in the in-between. Balancing masculine and feminine. Some days I like short hair, some days I want to braid it. On a Monday, I might begin a crochet project or a story idea, and by Tuesday they are already abandoned.
But deep down, at my core, I'm just a purple loving queer gremlin wanting her time in the sun while dancing under the moon just as much as anyone else.
Smiling person with shoulder-length brown hair against a purple background with glitchy white text. The tone is friendly and inviting.
A person sits at a table in a bright room, smiling while writing in a book. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. There's a Christmas tree nearby.
A woman stands indoors, smiling while reading a book titled "Ocean of Emotions." She wears a green cardigan and colorful skirt. The setting is cozy with stone walls and a wooden staircase.

The Eclectic Paradox behind the Words!

Hello world! I go by many names, but here I’m Lily Obediah Laverick!
I'm an author living in the middle of nowhere central France,
and I go through life as a confused alien.
I drink way too much tea and hot chocolate, write stories about imaginary friends falling in love, poetry that reflects what it's like being human, and plot increasingly unkind things for my characters — but I swear I love them dearly... Just, the more I love them, the more they'll suffer!
As an indie romance, angst loving author and unapologetic daydreamer, my love of storytelling began with dolls, video games, dress-up, and most of all, fanfiction. These days, that energy has evolved into original worlds and emotionally charged stories and poems that blur the lines between comfort and heartbreak.
When not writing, I can be found reading fanfictions, playing Sims or Minecraft, watching tarot and astrology videos, crocheting with a yarn hoard, or rewatching the Pride and Prejudice (1995) series.
And I love driving my mum nuts by listening to Wouldn’t You Like by Jorge Rivera-Herrans on repeat, among many, many other songs
(8k+ liked songs liked on my Spotify).
Though I may look soft and sweet on the outside, I proudly embrace my role as the quiet villain of my own story — gently nurturing my characters… right before putting them through the ringer!

Lily Through the Years

A Timeline of my life
A toddler stands in a sunlit forest, holding a teddy bear. They're wearing an orange top and black pants, looking curiously at their surroundings.

"Bonjour!"

My French adventure began in 2004, when we moved here from Dorset, England.  Mum calls this picture 'Christopher Robin and Pooh Bear in disguise in France'.
Young girl in a purple shirt proudly holding a large trophy indoors. She smiles confidently, conveying joy and achievement. Adults stand in the background.
